George Orwells Animal Farm uses animals and objects to symbolize political figures and events which are associated with the Russian Revolution. Stalin and Trotsky were 2 of the three main leaders post-revolution leading Russia after Lenin died. Though beginning with the notion that everybody was equal, it ended with Stalin rising to power. George Orwell, in Animal Farm, personifies Stalin and Trotsky with Snowball Napoleon. Snowball, representing Trotsky had many of the same characteristics on top of that actions as Trotsky. Napoleon and Stalin had much of the same things in common as well.

Snowball (symbolizing Trotsky) was idealistic, intellectual, a great speaker, and wanted the modernization of Animal Farm. His views and ideas in regards to the revolution were simple. He needed to industrialize Animal Farm, and spread the revolution to everyone the farms across the globe so therefore, they can rule themselves and kick-away humans. Into the displeasure of Napoleon, the opposite pig in charge, Snowball was the favored one and was liked by every one of the animals. Snowball was exiled by Napoleon. Later Napoleon accused Snowball of employed by the humans from day 1, and was declared a traitor.

Trotsky, an exceptional speaker and a writer, was an ideologist, an intellectual who desired to industrialize Russia, together with spread communism to the remainder of the world. He had most of the same traits as Snowball. Trotsky gained many loyal followers through from years, in the same way snowball had done. Trotsky was actually a formidable opponent for Stalin; therefore Stalin knocked Trotsky outside the game by exiling him finally assassinating him there. Both Trotsky and Snowball were faithful to their cause both sharing almost identical qualities. Napoleon, having much in common with Snowball did however have a very different personality not to mention political view. Napoleon, having practical interests, was just considering building upon Animal Farm. Still wanting industrialization, however not as much as Snowball. Napoleon was power-hungry and wanted to knock any competition out of the way by all means necessary. Snowball was the military strategist, studying Julius Cesar, making him a menace to Napoleons time to rule Animal Farm. After exiling Snowball as he is a threat, he took across the farm. Thereafter he did whatever he wanted to do without interference or different opinion since he used fear tactics. Using dogs, that are his personal bodyguards, the animals did anything they were made to do by Napoleon.
